About Our Charity

The Bergen Children Foundation was established by Norwegian and Ugandan medical students after they witnessed a significant need for assistance during their exchange program in Uganda. Since the organization's inception, we have collected donations for the purchase of medical equipment and to aid individual patients. Our work is now carried out in collaboration with local medical students. Much of their study time involves practical training in various hospital wards, where they frequently encounter pediatric patients and their parents. Many of these individuals are unable to afford their own medical treatment.

The Bergen Children Foundation is committed to offer economic assistance to paediatric patients at Mulago National Referral Hospital. Founded by Norwegian and Ugandan medical students at the hospital, our mission is to provide financial assistance for medical treatment for those in need, ensuring that children are not deprived of essential care due to financial limitations. Our goal is to alleviate financial burdens of patients and their families, and to spread access to healthcare to those in need.

Our vision for The Bergen Children Foundation is to empower paediatric patients by providing essential financial assistance to those in need, ensuring their access to vital healthcare services. We aspire to be a catalyst for change, and break down barriers to healthcare access for those in need. Through our efforts, we envision a future where no child will be denied vital healthcare due to their families financial situation.
